The Confederate Cemetery, San Antonio

The Confederate Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas is the final resting place of 230 Confederate Veterans.  

The Civil War Project researched, mapped and created a video tour of the cemetery.  Our research discovered some interesting facts.  Whenever the research was done to create the military headstones for the veterans buried here, the technology and digitized records that we have today didn't exist.  As a result, many errors exist on the military markers, wrong dates, wrong units, sometimes wrong states the veteran served in.  We endeavored to establish an accurate record of the service of the gallant veterans who rest here.  Below, are the links to the book that has the history of the cemetery, profiles of some of the noteworthy veterans, an alphabetic list of veterans and their service and maps of the locations of their graves, plus a link to the Virtual Cemetery and YouTube Video Tour.
